The Central State Historical Archives of Ukraine keeps documents of Kiev, Volyn, Podol, Poltava, Chernigov, Kharkov and other provinces (guberniyas) of Ukraine.
The Kiev province (guberniya) is territory of modern by Zhytomyr, Kiev, north of Cherkassy, north-east of Winnytsa areas. The documents of the Kiev province are kept in the archives of Kiev and small part of documents – in the archive of Zhytomyr.
The Volyn province is territory of modern by Zhytomyr, Rovno, Volyn areas, and also north part of the Khmelnysky area.
The Podol province is territory of modern by Khmelnytsky, Winnytsa and north part of the Odessa areas.
The Poltava province is territory of modern by Poltava, Cherkassy, Kharkov and east Kiev areas of Ukraine.
The Chernigov province is territory of modern by Chernigov and Sumy Ukrainian areas, Bryansk area of Russia.
The Kharkov province is territory of modern by Kharkov, Lugansk and Sumy areas of Ukraine.
